Everyone knows it can happen now, so why wait?


Answer: there are too many teams that like having ND on the schedule. Also, the ACC taking ND on part time is a defacto acceptance of their path to the CFP. Furthermore, the other conferences, particularly the B1G, don't care to make it easy on the ACC to land ND, now that ND has shown its preference.

If done on purpose, a brilliant move of triangulation on the Irish's part.
